Newark Scholars Program
Newark Academy continues to honor and celebrate its long-standing history and connection with the city of Newark. One of the many ways in which we do this is through The Newark Scholars Program, which was established in 2012 thanks to the generosity of a loyal alumnus.
If you live in or attend school in the City of Newark and complete our application for Financial Aid, you will be considered for our Newark Scholars Program, which covers the full cost of tuition and other school-related expenses throughout a student's time at Newark Academy. Since its inception, we are proud to support and celebrate six Newark Scholars annually.
Meet the Inaugural Class
Asia Moore '16 Diversity and Talent Development Program Manager
After graduating from NA, Asia earned a B.S. in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and worked in the human resources department at Bloomberg L.P. Asia now works to advance equity and inclusion in her role as a diversity and talent development program manager in Morgan Stanley’s Firm Risk Management Chief Administrative Office.
Josh Martin '16 Marketing Professional
Josh earned a B.A. in business administration from Muhlenberg College, where he was also able to continue his passion of playing football. Upon graduation, Josh pursued a career in marketing. He currently does freelance marketing for small and large companies with the goal of building his own marketing agency.
Jocelyn Willoughby '16 Professional Basketball Player
A New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year during her time at NA, Jocelyn is now showcasing her skills as a forward/guard on the WNBA courts and in Australia during the off-season. Off the court, Jocelyn earned a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Virginia in May 2022.
Katelynn Rodriguez '16 Architect Administrative Assistant
Katelynn earned a B.A. in Spanish from Drew University and currently works for an architecture firm in Newark as an administrative assistant. She works directly under the office’s principal architect, which gives her a front-row seat to operations and marketing discussions, as well as conversations among the firm’s leadership.
