College Counseling
Forging ahead while looking within.
Newark Academy’s College Counseling team sees the college search as a vital journey of self-discovery, one in which each student must chart the course based on personal plans, needs, and definitions of success.

While the college counseling officially begins during a student’s junior year, that formal beginning is actually a culminating moment in a long process of growth and exploration that begins as soon as the student enrolls at NA.
Working closely with teachers, grade counselors, advisors, coaches, and parents, NA’s college counselors help students identify and apply to colleges and universities that are best suited to their own interests, abilities and aspirations. Each of our students come to the college search process seeking something different. Our team of experienced college counselors build honest and thoughtful relationships with our students, encouraging and empowering them to identify and express their unique talents and experiences. The result is that each student finds their own best fit for the next leg in their life-long learning journey.
Process and Programs
Newark Academy’s college counselors are mindful that students (and parents) may find the college search process stressful. Two essential aspects of NA’s College Counseling staff’s work with students is de-mystifying the application process and teaching students to become effective self-advocates. Here’s a look at some key milestones that Newark Academy uses to effectively prepare students for selecting the college or university that is right for them.

Pathway To Collegiate Athletics
Newark Academy’s academic and athletic programs have a proven track record for preparing our student-athletes to not only participate at the collegiate level, but to excel upon arriving there. Student-athletes at Newark Academy benefit from skills development and elite competition on the field and a first-rate education off of it.
In addition to the individual attention provided to students by their assigned college counselor and the array of programs offered by the Office of College Counseling, Newark Academy also provides students and families with online resources for scholarships and more.
