Arts Facilities
Elizabeth McGraw Arts Center
Newark Academy’s campus offers students with an interest in the arts every opportunity to pursue their passions. The arts at NA are anchored in the spacious Elizabeth McGraw Arts Center wing of the school which includes a professional dance studio, three visual/digital arts studios and separate rehearsal halls for choral and instrumental music.
David Teiger ’47 Gallery for Studio Arts
The Center is also home to the David Teiger ’47 Gallery for Studio Arts which opened in 2017. This modern facility is home to exhibitions throughout the school year featuring NA student art work and that of highly-acclaimed artists from around the world. The Teiger Gallery provides exhibition space, museum quality lighting and the technological capabilities to exhibit digital as well as traditional visual arts.
Coraci Performance Hall
The performing arts have a new home at Newark Academy. Opening in July 2020, the Coraci Performance Hall is a state-of-the art, 700 seat facility, that serves as the heart of the NA campus. Originally home of Rose Auditorium, the facility has been completely rebuilt to accommodate the increased size of the NA student body for Morning Meetings and to provide a performance space equal in quality to the outstanding student artists that take the stage for dance, choral, orchestral, jazz, and theatrical performances throughout the school year.
Lautenberg "Black Box" Theater
The Lautenberg “Black Box” Theater is used as the primary classroom theater space for all Newark Academy Middle School and Upper School acting classes. It is also used for experimental work, readings and smaller productions.
Digital Arts Lab
Newark Academy's brand new digital arts lab has a dedicated photography studio as well as multiple computers with various editing and film programs for students to use. The space is outfitted with state-of-the-art COB LED lighting technology and grip equipment for production of both still and moving images.
